Shanna, although the article says to not add milk or fruit, that is in cases where caloric consumption is an issue. You can certainly mix it with almond milk, rice milk or 1% if you find that mixing it with water is not palatable

Sometimes it's hard to drink the protein shake with milk or fruit juice, how are we suppose to drink this made from water?

Sam, there are certainly quite a few P90X workouts that you can't do, but on the other hand, the ones that you can do, can and should be done at your normal intensity. The best substitute for the cardio, since you were running anyway, is to run in a pool. You can get a vest that will keep you in an upright position and run in chest deep or deeper water so there is little or no impact on your foot. I admire you not only for your drive during your injury but also for being in your 3rd 90 day cycle of P90X!

I am in my 3rd 90 day cycle of P90X and was running as an add on to my cardio and broke my foot (5th metatarsal). I am wearing a compression cast and still trying to do my workouts, working very carefully around my injury. I want to accelerate my healing process by continuing my workouts without risking undue stress on my foot. My mantra to ease the frustration is..."these things take time so have patience"....any suggestions? Will continuing my workouts at a lesser degree on intensity and staying off the foot help or hurt?
